Between Lainsburg and Beaufort West at Leugamka on the N1 I was nailed by a roving
Bounty hunter in Civies and private car parked under a tree, he was sitting
in a deck chair. I saw the damned thing too late.

Colesberg |

The Traffic Cops here have two Toyota Run X's (One Dark Blue, the other
Dark green). They trap on either side of Colesberg & sit behind the open
door of the car - using a laser device. On Jhb side they usually sit under a
huge billboard/roadsign just after the weighbridge. Stick to 80 Km/h guys!

80Km zone as you turn off the N7 to Port Nolloth, in both directions to Port
and entering Steinkopf. Speed limit 100km and 80km very close together easy
to ge caught comming from Port Nolloth. Thanks Jannie. |

Travelled down to CPT from JNB on 01/07/2006 and back on 07/07/2006. Caught
by camera N1 Hanover-Colesberg travelling 132km/h! On the way back caught by
same camera (N1 Hanover Colesberg) as well as another one 20 minutes apart
(N1 Hanover Richmond) travelling 132km/h as well! It's pathetic! 3 fines
on 1 trip travelling 132km/h...now really. Thanks Alta. |

On the N1 when you pass Richmond there is a strip of cement across the road and
a flashing pole stand camera on the eastern side of the road looking straight
across the road. Suppose this is only the light and the camera is elsewhere
otherwise how would it see the number plates... No town in sight. Thanks Jean. |

Colesberg / Hanover |

New mobile camera - Operator sits in small khaki coloured
tent - 20 km outside Hanover on the N1 towards Colesberg. Be
on the look out for this camera from Colesberg towards Hanover
or 20 km before Hanover from Richmond. Also dont be shy to stop
and ask the officer why they have to hide to do their job. The
old method of visible policing , which brought respect for
the law, has now made place for hiding and making more money.
