At night time I drive on the R300 and numerous times I have seen how people are thrown with stones, paint in a glass jarr and the latest, daylight robbery for people dropping off people along the road. I was actually shocked because a taxi blocked the road and 4 men jumped out and hijacked 2 cars taking the exit towards Kuilsriver and N2 towards Strand. R300 at night time underneath and after the bridges, all of them until you get toward the exit onto N1 and towards Cape gate. Thanks Goset.

Vangaurd Rd from Epping to Michels PLain, Durbanville, Vanguard Drive, from Fire Brigade in between Epping 1 & 2, Vanguard Rd all the way through, vendors walk past your car either begging or wanting to sell stuff, then at the same time they watch what you got on your seat or in back of car. They target woman and old people only. Beware. Thanks Goset.

An Employee's wife was hijacked on the corner of Ebenhezer and Prestwich in Greenpoint, across from Beluga Restaurant, at about 2pm. This is directly across from the gates to the Police Station. Thanks "Cuz".

Church Street / Klipfontein Road

My friend and I were hijacked on 18 December 2005 at 3.30am. I was thrown out of my car on Klipfontein Road but not my friend. He was shot dead later. My car was recovered due to the tracker and suspect arrested on R300. Worse - he was let out on bail. Thanks for informing us of this terrible event.

I was hijacked at 4am in Station Road, Salt River, Cape Town. And 2 weeks ago another incident with a female student. It seems to me that the group chose this narrow street as a safe bet because car parked on the side of the road, drop-offs etc bring following vehicles to a stop. Great site!! Carey

Hijacked at gunpoint: On Sunday 15 January 2006, I was hijacked at gunpoint as I was leaving the Engen 1-stop on the N1 just before the Joostenberg off ramp, heading towards Cape Town. The guys jumped out of the ditch in front of my car just before I rejoined the N1 after filling up with petrol. Next time I won't hit the brakes. Thanks Morne

Alice Street

We were hijacked at gunpoint by 5 guys in Alice Street, Goodwood, close to Voortrekker Road. This happened on our way back from church one evening, when we dropped off a lady and her little daughter. 3 guys came from the front, out of a minibus taxi that followed us, while 2 stayed behind in the taxi, and took everything: jewellery, clothes, cellphones, and drove away with the car.
